World Read Aloud Day

Did you know that it is almost World Read Aloud Day?  On Feb. 1, 2019 we will celebrate the power of reading words aloud together. It is the tenth anniversary of the creation of this special day that shares the love and importance of reading across the whole world.

"Reading aloud not only helps develop literacy skills, but it also builds community and connects us to each other. On World Read Aloud Day, people all around the globe read aloud and share stories to advocate for literacy as a human right." www.litworld.org

UMS plans on celebrating the day with special times and guest readers. You never know when we will Drop Everything And Read Aloud!

Help with Dinosaurs

Knowing that we have an in house dinosaur expert on hand, we asked Jaxon for his opinion about keeping some of our dinosaur books. He used his knowledge to make our dinosaur section even better! We thank him for his hard work and for making the library and even better place for our dinosaur readers to visit.
